The Mission Committee
Missions at home and abroad are supported by these activities of the Mission Committee:
- The “Mitten Tree”, erected in our sanctuary annually by the Mission Committee, and filled with hats, scarves, mittens and gloves to be sent to Evangel Hall in Toronto and the Anishinabe Fellowship Centre in Winnipeg.
- A food drive at Thanksgiving for those living at Quetzal Home, a local second-stage housing for battered and abused women and children, and provides gifts for the children that will be spending Christmas living at Quetzal Home.
- Collection of food, diapers, baby supplies, etc for the Norfolk Pregnancy Centre, to support their clients who have great needs for basic care items.
- Collection of food donations to be distributed by the Salvation Army Church to local needy families at Christmas time.
- Generous donations to Presbyterian World Service and Development (PWS&D) and the Francisco Coll School in Guatemala through regular offerings of the congregation and through the proceeds of the St. Paul’s Annual Yard Sale, the Lenten Coin Box Collection , the sale of spring flowers and the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper.
